Established in 2000 by Tom Zimmer and Susan Willsrud, the farm has experience much change and growth over 16 years. What began as a small CSA has become a thriving hub for on-farm field trips, workshops, farmer training program, animals, fiber production, and vegetable production. In the city of Fairbanks, Calypso engages with its community through the 5 school gardens of the School Gardens Initiative and the Southside Community Farmer’s Market.

Berkeley Farmers' Market: Tuesday South Berkeley

2pm to 6:30pm every Tuesday, rain or shine. The Ecology Center Farmers’ Markets are festive, family-friendly, open-air marketplaces where California farmers bring fresh, locally-grown produce and farm-processed foods to sell directly to consumers. Our markets feature fruits, vegetables, nuts, baked goods, jams and preserves, juices, olive oils, tofu, meat, cheese, prepared foods, nursery plants, and flowers. Often, musicians entertain the shoppers, and special events are scheduled throughout the year. We are committed to supporting small-scale farmers who practice sustainable agriculture, and we always accept WIC and EBT.

Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT)

MALT helps to protect Marin Country land from development and instead its usage for farming and rural housing. They offer hikes and tours to many of the family farms and ranches in Marin County, including dairies, cheesemakers, grass-fed beef operations, oyster farms, and historic ranches.

IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements)

The worldwide umbrella organization of the organic agriculture movement with about 740 member organizations and institutions in over 100 countries all over the world. Provides a platform for global exchange and cooperation, and is committed to the development of organic farming systems, including maintenance of a sustainable environment.

Aquaponics Institute

The Aquaponics Institute adds capacity to Instructors, farm managers and owners by providing opportunities to learn, develop know-how and better understand practical Aquaponics management and operational technologies for the individual, community and the corporation. We will do this through a range of services in business and management training, events, workshops and seminars, coaching, research, publications and media.

The Little Acre

The Little Acre is a Bay Area, mini-farming, consulting and maintenance business utilizing the principles of Permaculture and the methods of Biointensive farming to create productive and regenerative closed-loop systems. Our expertise helps create beautiful, edible and medicinal gardens that nourish the ecosystem and our clients while reconnecting them to the land. They also consult rainwater and greywater systems and do installations primarily with Greywater Action.
