They also have the Cool Foods Campaign which aims to educate the public about how food choices can affect global warming and empowers them with the resources to reduce the impact. An alliance of grassroots indigenous peoples whose mission is to protect the sacredness of Mother Earth from contamination and exploitation by strengthening, maintaining and respecting the traditional teachings and the natural laws. Formed by Indigenous people to address environmental and economic justice issues. Building capacity to protect sacred sites, land, water, and air. Campaigns include Indigenous Mining Campaign, Persistent Organic Pollutants, Toxics Campaign and Indigenous Energy Campaign.
Beach "adoption" involves commitment to cleaning the beach at least three times a year. Adopt-A-Beach provides education and guidance for beach adoption and/or neighborhood cleanup and educational materials/curricula for coastal cleanup.
Sanctuary Forest is a land and water trust whose mission is to conserve the Mattole River watershed and surrounding areas for wildlife habitat and aesthetic, spiritual and intrinsic values, in cooperation with our diverse community.
Berkeley Path Wanderers Association (BPWA), an affiliate of Berkeley Partners for Parks, is dedicated to the creation and preservation of Berkeley's public paths, steps and walkways for the enjoyment of all. They are community volunteers who work to increase awareness of Berkeley's pathways through their programs and activities. They offer free guided walks, publish a map of Berkeley's path network, and build and maintain new paths on previously inaccessible city-owned rights of way.
