An employee-owned company started by a few farmers from Vermont. Online retailer carries organic garden supplies and least toxic pest control products, tumbler or rotary composters. Carries a wide-variety of compost pails / buckets and carbon filters and bins, compost sifters, and red wiggler worms. Also carries rain barrels.

Reusable Lumber Company

Sells reclaimed wood. Does building demolition oriented around wood. Provides high quality, old growth products not available at commercial lumber yards and "big box" home improvement centers. They harvest their products from our rich urban landscape carefully, by hand. Prior to sale, the harvest is cleaned and either sold as-is or re-surfaced and custom-milled into flooring, siding, decking, casing, trim, ceilings, doors and beams, etc., depending on the specific needs of the client. BioFuel Oasis

The Biofuel Oasis Cooperative was founded in 2003 to provide greater access to biodiesel: a renewable, locally sourced fuel that reduces harmful tailpipe emissions. Since then they have grown into a vibrant urban farm store that sells beekeeping supplies, chicks, chicken feed, and more, and teaches urban farming classes. They are a worker-owned & operated cooperative that values sustainability, local production, and community. Accepts used vegetable oil donations.

AVOCURL

AVOCURL was created out of a dorm room by Founder, Jasmine Curtis, who was tired of products that left her hair dry and contained harmful ingredients. Her handmade creations quickly replaced her other products as she started to see the results of using natural ingredients in her hair like avocado, coconut, banana, and aloe vera. The products are handmade in small batches, never tested on animals, and contain certified organic ingredients.

Friends of the Berkeley Public Library --Central Library Bookstore

An eclectic range of books offered at very low prices. Proceeds go to the Berkeley Public Library. Accepts donations of books, tapes, videos, CDs, and DVDs. No LPs and no magazines, please, except for National Geographic or Architectural Digest. All items should be in good condition. The bookstores are staffed by more than one hundred volunteers.
