Instructions

Empty glass jars and rinse out, or wipe out food or oil, before placing in blue recycling cart with metal lids. All metal lids can be recycled. Plastic lids can go into the landfill.

Alternatives

Try to reuse the jar as long as possible before disposal. Glass jars are great to fill up with goodies from the bulk section.

Facts

Glass can be continuously recycled, there is no loss of quality or purity in the process. Glass dishes, light bulbs, windows, or glass bakeware melt (recycle) at a different temperature than jars, and must be separated into landfill.
