Instructions
Put plastic straws in the gray cart. If they are paper, they can go in the green compost cart.
Alternatives
Avoid plastic single-use straws and invest in a reusable one, e.g. metal, glass, bamboo. Many types of reusable straws are available at the Ecology Center store.
Facts
Plastic straws are small, nonrigid, and can get stuck in the machinery used to sort materials at a recycling center or transfer station.
