Instructions

Goes in green cart. Do not confuse wax cartons with shelf-stable, aseptic packaging (Tetra-Pak), which is NOT compostable. Tetra-Pak is 3 layers: plastic, metal & paper (printed exterior). These aseptic packages go in the gray cart (landfill).

Alternatives

Try to buy products that use less packaging.

Facts

Milk cartons use vegetable based dyes for printing, which gives them their distinctive color and texture, while also making them suitable for compost.
