Instructions
If there's no plastic mixed or laminated into the paper, recycle it. If there is, then place in black landfill cart. Very thin layers of gold leaf or foil may be recyclable, but the paper grade is lowered by all non-paper components of the paper.
Alternatives
Use grocery store paper bags, newspaper, boxes, packaging from a previous present, and other types of packaging you might have around the house, instead of buying new.
Facts
Paper made from recycled material is easy to find and is usually comparable in price to paper made from virgin material.
