Envelopes with plastic padding have mixed materials so can't be recycled.
Alternatives
Use recyclable envelopes and/or a common paper envelope, then insert a padded material into the envelope, which can later be separated from the paper for recycling.
Facts
Although convenient, most padded envelopes are not recyclable because it is difficult and expensive to separate the plastic materials from the paper.
