Instructions
Plastic cups and plates are recyclable. If they are made of polystyrene foam (i.e. styrofoam) you need to put them in the landfill bin. If there are labeled 'compostable,' put them in the compost bin.
Alternatives
Use reusable or compostable products rather than plastic.
Facts
Disposable or “throw-away” items are generally not a good environmental option because a lot of energy and resources go into making and transporting them to be only used once.
