The Rock Paper Scissors Collective is a volunteer-run organization that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities and encourage sustainable practices and alternative models. They promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance.

Building by the Handful

Shawn and Melissa Rae King have been building with earth, demonstrating, and teaching others in earth building and earthen plasters for more than four years. Projects include multiple earthen ovens, earth benches, and tiny earthen houses. Shawn has trained both at Cob Cottage Company and at Cal Earth. Both Melissa and Shawn are instructors with Cob Cottage Company and have worked closely with Ianto Evans and Linda Smiley as well as other members of the Cob Cottage Company teaching community.

Pollinate Farm & Garden

Pollinate is an edible plant nursery and urban homestead emporium located in the heart of Oakland. They specialize in backyard chickens, beekeeping, food preserving, urban farming, edible landscapes and food forests, soil amendments and composting kits. Pollinate hosts a speaker series and hands-on DIY workshops on a variety of topics. They want to help you get the most out of your space and inspire you to DIY (Do It Yourself) Food. They also offer a knife and tool sharpening service. They also host seasonal crop swaps.

East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse

East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse accepts donations of "unique discard" materials for kids' art projects. They sell file folders, binders, recycled paper, and other reclaimed art and office materials. They are a nonprofit agency that collects materials and redistributes them to community at low cost. Specializing in art materials, books, small furniture, frames and garden artifacts.

Antioch New England Graduate School

The Environmental Studies Department offers a PhD program and master's degrees in Conservation Biology, Advocacy for Social Justice and Sustainability, Environmental Education, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Resource Management and Conservation. Educating for Sustainability and a Green MBA in Sustainability. They also have centers and institutes devoted to health and the environment.

California State University, East Bay Continuing Education

Provides professional development training and education for East Bay professionals, offering more than 50 certificate and degree programs in a variety of industries and fields. Programs are offered at three locations - in Hayward, Oakland and Concord.

Napa Valley College

Provides a two year program designed to prepare students for careers in viticulture and/or winery related jobs.

University of Arizona / College of Agriculture

Multidisciplinary program in natural resources, management, and policy. MS and Ph.D. degrees available. The Advanced Resource Technology (ART) option within the program facilitates education on current cutting edge technologies encompassing three areas: remote sensing and image processing, modeling and artificial intelligence, as well as geographic information systems. Graduate degrees also available with emphasis in: Fisheries Conservation and Management, Rangeland Ecology and Management, Natural Resources Studies, Watershed Management, and Wildlife Conservation and Management.
