Instructions
Completely paper bags can be composted (as food-soiled paper). Most bags are a bonded composite (e.g. paper and plastic, or paper and foil), which must go to the landfill. Some bags are bonded plastic and metal foil, which must go to the landfill.
Alternatives
Buy coffee from the bulk section in a plain paper bag or reusable container. Look for a Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, or Organic label.
