Instructions

Place in the gray cart (landfill) if you don't send it back to the specific manufacturer. While some coffee pods have a takeback program offered, it is not clear that they actually get recycled.

Alternatives

Use reusable coffee pods or reusable filters, and buy your coffee in bulk. Try a new method of making coffee such as french press or pour-over using a reusable filter.

Facts

Single-use plastic coffee pods are a major source of pollution. The process of growing and producing coffee is plagued with negative consequences on the environment, most notably intensive water use, water pollution, and deforestation.
