Window Glass
Instructions
Place in gray landfill cart. Non-container (bottle and jar) glass such as windows, drinking glasses, and dishes are not compatible with bottle/jar glass recycling. For safety, broken glass should be placed inside a paper bag or other container and labeled as “broken glass”.
Alternatives
Might be used in an art project like a leaded window, or a mosaic project.
Facts
Window glass often contains chemicals that harden it, block UV light, or offer other performance attributes. These chemicals do not mix well with container (recyclable) glass, and are considered contaminants.
