Commercially available propylene glycol automotive antifreeze still needs to be disposed of as household hazardous waste, but presents less health risks in the home and garage.


Antifreeze can acquire additional hazardous metals, such as lead, chromium, or cadmium, during regular use in your automobile. Dumping waste antifreeze is illegal by state and federal law, and punishable by fines of up to $10,000/25,000.
