Grass and weeds are 100% compostable. Place in the green (compost) cart. Please note: Sod and soil/dirt are not accepted in the green cart.
Alternatives
Collect "green" yard debris in a pile in your yard and let it sit for several months to be turned into compost. This must be composted properly (turned/aerated) to be effective.
Facts
Weed seeds will die in most commercial compost processes, since they reach approx. 160° F. Weed seeds should not remain viable after exposure to 140° F for 14 days.
